What does Dubai say about the Same Sex relationships?

|

A country is normally defined by its culture and its government. For Islamic countries such as the United Arab Emirates, they regulate themselves by Islamic Laws. These laws are very strict and often lead to people in the country to be more inhibited. Women in general and the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community are the ones who are mostly affected by these laws. The rights of the LGBT community is heavily repressed in countries such as the UAE

Can you have same sex wedding in Dubai?

No. To cut the long story short, it is not possible. Homosexuality is considered a crime in Islamic law. There are absolutely no rights given to the LGBT community at all. You can potentially risk fines, jail time, flogging, deportation and even death. Despite the LGBT community spreading awareness all over the world, UAE still abides by the Islamic laws. There is even a story about a Transgender Youtuber who was detained for 5 hours in Dubai airport only because she was transgender.

“Yesterday was one of the scariest moments of my entire life and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.”

-Gigi Gorgeous

What are the options for me to get a same sex marriage?

Just because countries such as the UAE do not have rights for the LGBT does not mean that other countries are not an option. Going to countries where the rights of the LGBT community are almost equal to non-LGBT would be ideal. Countries such as Malta would be perfect for getting married.

Malta has developed as a country which sees the LGBT as equal for decades now, and there are a lot of benefits for the community there. Not only can you get married in Malta, the country is also part of the Apostille convention. This means that your marriage would be considered legal to other countries as well. As long as you go to a country which is also part of the Apostille convention as well as accepting of LBGT marriages, then your wedding will be considered legal.

Everyone should have the right to marry the person that they love, no matter who that person may be. It is not fair that this right is not given to everyone, but it is not impossible. If you are an LGBT, you can get married. If you want to find out more, you can visit easyweddingmalta.com and we will support you all throughout.
