Can Iranians finally travel to Georgia to get married?

Following a coronavirus epidemic in February 2020, Georgia halted direct flights to Iran. This meant people from Iran were not allowed to travel to Georgia.

Georgia is quite popular as a wedding destination spot for citizens around the world for its fast and easy documentation. Getting married in Georgia can be as quick as a day. Moreover; its visa free for most GCC residents.

Despite all of these fantastic perks; Iran nationals were banned to enter. However; according to recent sources; there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. More updates can be found here.

Recent updates on Iranians traveling to Georgia

The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency said that Iranian Zagros Airlines and Qeshm Airlines will resume Tehran-Tbilisi-Tehran flights this month, connecting the capital cities of Georgia and Iran.

From November 1, Zagros Airlines will fly twice a week between Tbilisi and Tehran, while Qeshm Airlines will fly twice a week until November 15, 2021, and four times a week after November 15.

During the off-season, Qeshm Airlines will contemplate moving to day-to-day operations, according to the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.
