How to get married in Georgia when you live in the GCC?
So when you live in Dubai or Sharjah, Kuwait, Qatar, KSA, Bahrain, when you live in any of the GCC countries, you may be considering Georgia as one of the best options for you to get married.
1. Follow the Georgian marriage requirements
The process is usually pretty simple. It’s feasible over a weekend if you have some local point of contact or company like Easy Wedding, that can help you to finish the process.
When you want to get married in Georgia, you will need your passport, passport translation and notarization, and two witnesses. These are the only requirements for getting married in Georgia.
Whenever you meet all of them, you need to physically go to Georgia and make an appointment at the public service hall in Tbilisi or in some other city. The registration will only require signing the documents.
When this is done you are officially a couple and congratulations. However, this will not be enough if you need to get a wedding certificate that is recognized in your country.
2. Register your wedding certificate after getting married in Georgia if you live in GCC
To make this happen, you will have to translate it, register it at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and validate it at your embassy.
So please make sure to contact your embassy if you have any questions. Some countries have different legislation when it comes to recognizing the wedding certificate.
What you need to know is that Georgia offers apostille wedding certificates and over a hundred countries officially recognize them.
